Mammoth Part 4…

This is what happens when Aya has the camera.  You would think she would take a picture with Jack and Wooly, but nope it is Aya and Wooly:

Opening Day…

Well not quite opening day, Jack missed the first week of the baseball season so this was his first game:

marlins_game1_1

Jack did quite well.  The team we played was great!  It felt like we were the bad news bears, ghetto, no coach, no one knew the rules, full of minorities playing against an all white team.   In any case, Jack did not do that bad:

marlins_game1_6

Jack made some stops in the field.  He even tried out being catcher even though he never did it before:

marlins_game1_12

To make matters worse, the coach called me an hour before the game and told me that he forgot to remind me at practice that he would be out of town and that I would need to set the roster, place the kids and pitch to the kids:

marlins_game1_7

Sadly, I think I only gave up 1 run, struck out maybe 14 batters as we got crushed 24-1.

Potty Training…

Grandma & Grandpa have been working on potty training Stacy.  To this point Stacy has been stubborn about learning how to be potty trained.  She can definitely hold it for a while but she refuses to tell anyone she has to go to the bathroom until AFTER she goes.

Last week she finally did it for the first time!

Valentine’s Day…

Grandpa and Stacy did a lot of heart ‘art’ for Valentine’s day and made lots of hanging hearts:

New addition to the family…

Last week while driving home from work, Aya’s car lost all the power on the freeway and would not accelerate over 30 mph.  Aya’s got off the freeway and called the tow truck.   Unfortunately, Aya’s car needed some serious repair and it wasn’t worth fixing compared to the value of her car which was already 10 years old.   So, over the weekend we went to the dealer, traded in Aya’s old benz and upgraded to a new one:

Figures Aya picked the salesman that sold Kobe Bryant his SL65 along with other various NBA players.   Aya with her new E350:

I got the E350 when it was a new line back in 2005.   This is the last year for this body type...and it is WAY better than my version of the E350.  Plus, this is similar to the car Aya’s mom was driving when she passed away so a nice reminder for Aya to think of her mom with this car:

Aya’s Birthday Part 3…

Luckily I was able to redeem myself at the next birthday celebration for Aya at Sakura.  After dinner we went to Grandpa and Grandma’s house for cake:

Aya’s Birthday Part 2…

The family celebrated Aya’s birthday at Paul Martin’s.   I sort of ruined the birthday fun.  I had a work function and we went drinking at 1:00 pm and by the time I got home at 5 pm I was toast.    Aya had to drive the family to dinner while I tried to sober up.  Luckily I felt well enough after dinner but I had to box up all my food to go:

The kids on the other hand loved it.  They loved the devils food cake.  BIG mistake to get that before bed time.  The kids were wired and amped up:

Aya’s Birthday Part 1…

Aya had a super busy day on her actual birthday so we delayed the birthday celebrations for the weekend but luckily Aya made it home in time for us to celebrate with cupcakes:

Baseball…

And all sports week for Jack, basketball, football and now baseball.  Jack had his first baseball practice and it went well.

Jack continues to field the ball well.   I think basketball helps because he has to slide his feet:

baseball_wk1_5

Jack hit the ball well.  For some reason his eye hand coordination in baseball is good, but catching a football is terrible.  I just don’t get it:

baseball_wk1_8

I was impressed at Jack’s first practice.  Jack did really well…a natural at baseball.

Football season is winding down and with all of Jack’s activities it looks like we will be stopping football.   Jack going out on a long streak:
