Music Class…

I thought Jack’s class was doing a small music recital so I left work early to watch.   Sadly when I got to school it was just music class and parents could go and see what the kids have learned.  It wasn’t bad, Jack could read some music sheets and play on his scales:

Baseball…

Baseball season finally game to a close.  Jack’s team really got better from the start of the season.  We went from a TERRIBLE team to a Not-So-Good team.   Jack ended up paying attention in the field more and even getting some defensive outs:

Jack really improved his hitting:

His awareness was up as well as Jack was starting to really run hard when the ball was put in play:

Jack wasn’t so good at catcher, but at least he looks like a player.   I will say this, Jack is not afraid of the ball or getting hit.  He would squat right in back of the hitter and I would have to tell him to go farther back because a lot of kids still throw the bat:

Disneyland Part 6…

Jack normally sticks to the kiddie rides but I got him to go on Splash Mountain:

I think he liked it but he said he was a little ‘scared’:

All in all a good day at the Magic Kingdom:

Disneyland Part 5…

Now that Stacy was dolled up like a princess she had to go and meet the OTHER princesses:

wk176_disneyland_meet_princess2

I know the last one was snow white but I have no idea who this princess is:

wk176_disneyland_meet_princess3

Or this one…is Barbie a princess?

I had never even known Disneyland had a princess section!!   It was all a first for me.  Jack didn’t like it much….hahahhaha…Rapunzel.

Disneyland Part 4…

Aya and I took Stacy to Bippity-Boppity-Boo.  What a racket!  There are no prices and everything is a la carte, but basically it is a shop that lets you make over your daughter for a price.  Stacy got the Cinderella package, so that means she got a dress, her finger nails done, makeup and hair extensions.   You get the check at the end and it is a pretty little penny (not including tip)…but Stacy loved it.

I was against it because I thought it looked lame, but Stacy wanted blond hair extensions:

For future parents that take their daughers, I suggest you go with NO glitter (I had glitter all over my car for weeks)…but here was the hairspray and the fairy dust glitter:

Disneyland Part 3…

We twisted and twirled on the teacups.  The kids like to go fast…and this how you know you are old…Aya didn’t feel well going super fast on the teacups:

We started the day in Tomorrowland and Stacy liked the same ride’s Jack did at his age.  We started off with Buzz Lightyear:

Disneyland Part 1…

Aya and I wanted to take Stacy to Disneyland for her birthday but every time we planned to go it rained.  After that basketball season was in full swing so we just kept putting it off.   With school ending, we thought we would pull Jack out of school, Aya and I would ditch work and we would finally take Stacy to the happiest place on Earth!

Stacy was all smiles as we headed over to the park:

wk176_disneyland

Then the smiles kind of went away as Stacy did not like taking pictures with the Disney mascots:

Jack had to take pictures with Stacy or else she didn’t want to do it:

Luckily she was a bit better with Minnie:

But Mickey was the last one:

Do you hear what I hear?

I find the blog useful  in dating and/or remembering events in the kids life.  I guess it is a quicker look up then looking at photo date stamps on my PC or when creating scrap books.
I was thinking the blog is all about the kids, but what if you don’t have kids?  Then his blog would be pretty boring.  Shoot, it could be boring for people that have kids as well.  In any case, I decided I will try to create some entries every month about just Aya and I.

Fact, I mumble when I speak.

Fact, I listen to the TV loud and the radio in my car loud.  Sure, maybe I have a hearing disorder, but honestly I think I hear just fine.

What I say and what Aya hears are two DIFFERENT things completely.  For example, if I come home and Aya forgot to take out the trash (which is her chore), I simply remind her, “Did you take out the trash?”  What she hears and tells me is, “Hey moron, you forgot to take out the Mother F’n trash out!”
The problem wouldn’t be how Aya interprets what she hears…that is her prerogative.  The problem happens when Aya says I heard you say, “Hey moron, you forgot to take out the Mother F’n trash!”     That is NOT what I said AT ALL!!!  I just said simply, “Did you take out the trash out?”

This happens ALL the time.   Aya might ask, “How did you like dinner?  I will reply, ‘It was alright”.  Aya will then say, “Great.  I suck at cooking, I suck at being a wife and a mother, I am a terrible person.”  Umm, hello, all I said was, “It was alright” but Aya will say but this is what I heard, Great.  I suck at cooking, I suck at being a wife and a mother, I am a terrible person.”

It is almost as bad as when Aya wakes up from a bad dream where I might have done something wrong in **HER** dream, yet I get blamed for it the next day.
The joys of marriage.

Nephew Part 2…

Funny how the hospital let Jack and Stacy visit when he was brand spanking new…just a few hours old…but when we went back a few days later they were not allowed to visit.  No matter, I got to check out my nephew:

Toshihiro had a little jaundice so he had to hang out  and rock out under the lights:

Nephew…

I guess my nephew must take after Aya.  After eating at Providence and hearing “Uncle” speak he was so excited to see me that he came 6 weeks early!!  The day after having dinner with Dawn and Bryan, Dawn’s water broke the next morning and a few hours later, Toshihiro was born:

Providence…

The L.A Times came out with their list for the top 100 restaurants in Los Angeles, so we decided to try the #1 restaurant on the list, Providence:

providence2

I am not “foodie” so no pictures of the food.  I will say the food was good, typical LA, big plates, small portion and heavy on the presentation.  The service was good as well.  The only problem was the waiter was kind of a jerk.  Not very friendly at all…right on the borderline of rude.  I think when that happens you can’t be rated #1 in my book.  Would I go back…maybe…but I think because of the service I would try the #2 place on the list…except that is Urasawa and Aya has already gone there.

Pajama Night…

Jack is the second best player on his baseball team.

marlins_game6_29

His team had a king of the hill playoff tournament.   Sadly, the schedule came out late and we had a conflict, either go to the playoff game or go to school’s pajama night where the teacher reads stories.  This is how you know he is Aya’s son…he choose school over baseball!!

pj_night2

Stacy got to go as well:

pj_night1

I didn’t want to ‘guilt’ Jack into playing and I asked him several times during the week but he always chose school.  A few kids in his class were on the team he was playing but that didn’t do anything to make him want to play.  Oh well…hoping Stacy becomes my sports star!!
