Party...

Stacy was so happy to go to her best friend from preschool's birthday party.  Unfortunately they no longer go to the same school but we still get together for play dates.

Monarch BBQ...

For the past 5 years we have only done bbq's with Jack's basketball team but before Stacy's basketball season started her team wanted to pre-season bbq.  It was the first time meeting lots of the moms and dads and the kids had a great time at the bbq:

The Monarchs are so different than the Pirates.  The Pirates boys could care less about me but the Monarchs all make it point to say, "Hi Coach" every time they walk by me.   Hmm, I bet that won't last much longer with all the running I make them do at practice.

VFW Tournament Game 3...

It sucks to play in the 'friendship' game but we still had to play the game and I didn't want to lose this one.  We played a team from Evergreen and they were just as hungry to win one as well.

They tried to go man to man but Jack came out on fire and couldn't miss the it forced the other team to get out of their man to man defense.

Even though Jack was doing well, we were getting stops on the offensive end and were down 8 early. We stormed back by half time to take a small lead.

In the second half, we increased our lead but let it slip away with minutes left.  The game was back and forth by one point.  It was a good team effort.  We were down 1 point with 35 seconds left and our back up point guard made 2 free throws to give us a one point lead.

We got another stop and instead of running out the clock we took a tough shot but luckily we made and it and won by 3.

VFW Tournament Game 2...

Game 2 wasn't much better for us either.  After a 5 hour wait in between games and lunch the boys were a bit lethargic to start the game.  Size for us was an issue again as we were undersized.  We did a muc better job in rebounding and boxing out but still lost by 8 points.

Jack doing his best to keep us in the game:

VFW Tournament Game 1...

We drew a tough draw for the VFW tournament and played in the Silver division.  Normally we are a bronze level team and we can compete in the Silver division but it depends on the match ups.

We drew the Norwalk Legends in Game 1 and they beat us down by 12 points.  It was close for a bit but we could not stop their big man and gave up too many offensive rebounds and put backs.

Jack had a pretty good tournament overall so I can complain about his effort.

Dim Sum...

We tried a new Dim Sum place in Westminster with Grandma Chanch.  This place opens at 8:30 am and there was a line by 8:00.  The place was packed when we left...but man that was some good dim sum!

SBY Game 1...

Our first SBY game and wouldn't you know it...San Pedro High is home of the Pirates:

The Pirates played well.  We started off slow and trailed 14-2 but then we started playing some defense and stormed back into the game:

We trailed by 2 at half time and took the lead late in the game.  We pulled away at the end to win 37-29.  Jack trying to draw and "And 1" but he isn't even looking at the basket when he got fouled!

A win is always nice:

Day number two and we are back on the lake.  Today is so much better than the day before...no wind.  The lake is calm...today is going to be our day:

Jack didn't want to be cold like the day before so this time he brought a blanket:

But it wasn't even cold...the lake doesn't get any better than this:

Stacy is hoping to catch her first fish!
