Birds of a feather…

I was laying down with Jack taking self-portraits with Jack….just goofing around.   When we were all done we looked at the pictures and I realized that Jack and I make the same faces!

Purple Lips…

I went to watch Jack swim the other day.  He is still doing okay.  They keep working on his free style and back stroke.   In anything, Jack is just more relaxed and comfortable in the water now.  He no longer gets scared about going into the deep end but he is still a far way from being left alone in the pool.

I guess Jack was cold after he got out of the pool because his lips were purple!

9 Months…

Stacy had her 9 month checkup last week and everything checked out normal:

Height:  28”  (60% tile)

Weight:  16 lb 13 oz (15%-tile)

Head: 17: (25%-tile)

wk50_green_heart2

The only one that made me scratch my head was the 15%-tile in weight because Stacy loves to eat!  You can’t really see it but we think Stacy is a little fatty….although since her last check up she only gained 1 lb in 3 months.

Food Coma…

Ever have one of the big, filling, great meals where you just want to push away from the table and take a nap?  Well Stacy is so sleepy that she wants to take a nap while eating!

Have a great weekend!

Fire Trucks…

We go to the market every Sunday.  Usually the Fire Truck is at the market shopping at the same time but I never remember to bring a camera.  Luckily this week I had my camera with me:

Sunflower…

Jack and Grandpa planted some sun flowers at Grandpa’s house.  It was suppose to be a competition to see who can grow the biggest sunflower.  Sadly, the one Jack and I planted grew about 6 inches, fell over and died.  Keep in mind, my dad gave me the sunflower and it was already 6 inches.

Needless to say, the one at Grandpa’s house did much better!

Stacy Dancing…

I have noticed that Stacy kind of bobs her head when she hears music.    I was laying on the sofa icing my toe (which is still sore from the pumpkin) and Stacy pulled herself up and started to dance!

Pumpkin Patch…

Jack probably didn’t even know there was pumpkins at the pumpkin patch.   He was too busy…

More Pumpkins…

I saw a stack of little pumpkins and I thought Stacy would look funny sitting on the little pumpkins.  She obviously didn’t like it much:

 wk48_cry1

She did calm down a little bit:

wk48_cry4

Sadly, as I was trying to put Stacy on top of the little pumpkins, I didn’t notice there was a pumpkin near my foot and as I walked towards Stacy I kicked the pumpkin and hurt my toe:

All that pain in my toe for a picture of a crying child.  Grr.   Two days later and my toe is super sore and swollen.   I should have known…this is the same toe where the bone came out of my foot when my foot slipped off my bike pedal…yes…while wearing slippers.

The Great Pumpkin…

We headed to the local pumpkin patch this weekend.   It seems like the pumpkin patch is more a little carnival with pumpkins on the side.  Plus, who wants to pay a lot of money for a pumpkin when they are super cheap at the market?

Psyche!   Stacy totally hated the pumpkin and was crying!

4 Teeth…

I guess Stacy gets all her teeth in pairs.  It started with two crooked bottom teeth and now she has 2 crooked top front teeth.  I guess we definitely know Stacy got my crooked and jacked up teeth.

wk47_4_teeth_crooked

I am not surprised Stacy has crooked teeth.  She is much more independent than Jack.  Stacy ‘sucks’ her lip or her finger to help soothe her.  Easier for us because Stacy will calm down on her own but sad for her because she will need more dental work later.

Big Eyes are back…

Nothing really to report…this is just so Aunty Nora can see pictures of Stacy.  Apparently the ratio of Jack to Stacy pictures isn’t quite even for Aunty Nora’s taste'.

My attempt at a hairclip for Stacy:

It sort of works…I am blaming it on the lack of hair.

Buggy Part 2…

So when Jack and I were walking back to the house we decided to have some fun with Stacy.  Our driveway has a slight decline in it which is perfect for coasting on a bike….a stroller….or even a buggy??    Hmmm.

With no Aya around, and just Jack and I, we decided to kick it up notch in the buggy and have some fun!

Stacy loved it…we ended up doing this for another half hour…although Jack forgot about “easy-easy” a few times and pushed her way too hard and fast down the decline.

Buggy Part 1…

Look at what I found…Jack’s old buggy!   Aya was in Boston a few weeks ago so I busted out the buggy and Jack and I took Stacy for a walk.

At first Stacy was little uncomfortable and apprehensive in the buggy…especially when Jack was pushing her.  Eventually she settled it and was riding it the buggy like a pro:

wk42_buggy_ego_driven

Jack was a bit ‘rough’ driving Stacy around but eventually he got the hang of it and pushed her around ‘easy-easy’ because she is just a baby.

Swimming…

Just my luck.  My dad has been taking Jack to his swimming class and my dad has been saying how Jack is swimming so much better and how the kids are swimming more and more.

Well, during my ‘lunch’ I went to see Jack swim and that was the day the teacher made it easy.

ymca_stingray_class3

So there was nothing new or nothing different I haven’t seen before.  Jack is doing very well.  This past weekend we were at the pool for a few hours a day and for once I didn’t have to stay in the water with him…I was able to just lay out and read a magazine…although I didn’t really read as I was too nervous watching to see if Jack was okay in the water by himself!

WLA Church…

We went to Dawn’s church carnival over the weekend.  It is a very SMALL carnival…and I am not even sure you can call it a carnival…more like sidewalk food vendors with very lame games.   Lame games or not, Jack wanted to play them all.  Good thing we ran in Aunty Dawn there so Jack could spend HER money at the carnival!

Basketball was too easy:

Jack really liked the golf game but he wasn’t very good:

 wla_golf4

Tic-Tac-Toe was a nightmare because Jack doesn’t know how to underhand the ball and he was just throwing the ball all over the place!  He bonked one of the girls in the head….it was pretty funny.

Bedtime…

We really lucked out with Jack because he has been great with Stacy.  We weren’t sure how he would react having a sibling but he really looks out for Stacy.

Jack is the only that can consistently make Stacy laugh and Stacy tries to always keep her eyes on Jack and follows him throughout the room.
