Birthday Celebration #2

I took cupcakes to Jack’s school to celebrate his birthday on his ‘actual’ birthday.

I wonder if other parents come to school for their kids birthday because Jack never asks me to come to school to take pictures, however on Jack’s birthday he specifically asked if I would come to school and take pictures.

Speaking of cupcakes, how lame is Pavilion's? I went to the market on Sunday and ordered 2 dozens vanilla cupcakes for Wednesday morning. On Wednesday morning Pavilion’s called me at 6:00 am and said they don’t have vanilla cupcakes but they can make chocolate cupcakes? UGH!! I asked why not, I did order the cupcakes in ADVANCE. The baker said the vanilla cupcake mix didn’t come in the nightly shipment so they could not make them. Again, I asked, “Why not? I put in an order on Sunday so you should have vanilla mix.” Um, they did not…so I had to get chocolate cupcakes instead. Lame.

Sydney's Birthday...

We ended our weekend by celebrating Sydney's 7th birthday:

Jack didn't want to go to the birthday party. He just wanted to go for 'a little while' but when we got to the party he saw the bouncer and didn't leave the bouncer for 3 hours!

Jack did take a little break to have some water with Aya:

Susu Birthday...

Saturday night we celebrated Susu birthday at Mastro's in Beverly Hills:

Susu got the 48 oz porterhouse. I always wanted to know who orders that much meat but Susu ordered and finished it before anyone else was done with their meal!

My Birthday...

After we celebrated Jack's birthday on Saturday, we celebrated my birthday at my parents house. My mom made dinner and then my favorite cupcakes:

Jack helped me open my presents:

Jack thinks I am his own personal lounge chair:

Then Jack 'used' my camera and took this picture:

He got mad at Aya after because Aya didn't move her legs out of the picture!
Woo-Hoo...Happy Birthday to me!!

Jack's Birthday Party...

I caved into the pressure of throwing Jack a birthday party this year. Originally I told Aya that we would not have a birthday for Jack until he turned 5 but after going to several parties this year, Jack finally asked if *he* would have a birthday party.

We celebrated his birthday at his gymnastics center in Playa Del Rey:

Thanks for everyone that made it out to celebrate Jack's 4th Birthday!

Windows 7

Okay, this is going to be a super nerdy post, but I upgraded my PC to Windows 7 this week and so far I really like it.  Keep in mind, I have not changed my OS in years.  I used Windows 3.1, Windows NT, Windows XP and now Windows 7.  I never touched Vista and hardly used Windows 2000.

I can’t really say why I like Windows 7 so much.  It seems to be less ‘heavy’ and runs ‘smoother’.   I suppose I am a little behind the times since I didn’t use Vista but now I am using other features like Live Writer to do this post now instead of Blogger.

The overall installation of Windows 7 was easy and fairly quick.   I ended up staying up for another 4-5 hours because I just didn’t know how to use all the new features in Windows 7 like the way I know XP so for the past few days I have just been trying to figure and learn how to do everything in Windows 7 and it’s been FUN!!

With Jack's birthday rapidly approaching which means I will have to endure several hours around being around a hoard of kids, I decided to take this quiz:

Kobe...

Baseball is all done. No football team in LA so that means it is Laker time again! Laker time means Jack gets to watch his favorite player or as Jacks says, "My buddy Kobe Bryant."

Jack is back in sports class but he has a different coach now and she SUCKS. It is horrible to watch her teach basketball, tball, hockey and soccer.

Jack dominating in basketball again!

Tuna...

I went fishing and look what I caught:

Of course, I needed Batman to help me:

Nope. I didn't really catch the fish. Robin caught the fish and dropped it off at my parents house. I figured I should get some pictures before my dad cut up the fish!

Holy Crap Batman...

Jack is finally potty trained!! Woo-hoo. Now, he likes to show us the 'damage' that he does. The other day he took this crap:

I dunno how something so big comes out of someone so small. Jack was so proud of his 'big mama-jama' poop that he didn't want to flush the toilet until Aya came home to see it.

Halloween School...

Jack school had a Halloween party at his school on Friday. I dunno why the teacher can't get all the kids to sit together to take a picture. This is about 1/2 the class in the picture.

Jack pretty much plays with two kids at school, Benjamin and Sophie. Here is Benjamin:

I think this is Jack's best school friend, Sophie. He plays with Sophie everyday.

Halloween...

This year Jack really got into the Halloween spirit. He wasn't afraid to walk up to people's doors, say "Trick or Treat" and grab some candy.

We went around my parent's neighborhood and Jack took in a pretty good haul:

Here was all our goodies!

Pumpkin Carving...

Aya and I got two pumpkins for Jack to carve. We didn't think he would really be able to carve the pumpkin but we thought he would at least pull out the 'guts and the seeds' inside the pumpkin. He did neither. He just walked around like a zombie while Aya and I did all the work:

Aya's pumpkin:

Miles pumpkin:

On Halloween, we went to my parents house before it got dark and Dawn and Brian were carving their pumpkins:

Sadly, I got suckered into carving ANOTHER pumpkin. We had 7 pumpkins!!

Jury Duty...

Phew! That was a close call but in the very end I got kicked off jury duty. I was so sure that I was going to be juror because:

1. We had about 80 jurors in just my jury pool.
2. After the first 20 or so jurors were excused by peremptory challenge, I made it into the jury seat.
3. After about 60 other jurors were excused by peremptory challenge I was still there.
4. The defense said TWICE they were okay with the selected jury panel.
5. Luckily the state dismissed ONE final juror and that was me!!

Man, it was such a waste of time to hear all of the questions they asked perspective jurors. I mean EVERYONE tries to give a biased answer to get out of jury duty. Heck I tried as well. I also learned NOT to read a book/magazine while sitting in the jurors box.

I was so bored that I started reading and the judge got upset. Another lady was doing a crossword puzzle so it wasn't just me. After that to occupy my time, I just stared at the DA the entire time. Aya thinks I 'creeped' her out by my staring and that is why she kicked me out. I wish I thought of it earlier!!

Oh well....no more jury duty for me and I get $60 bucks! Woo-hoo!
